We’ve come to understand the inner workings of our mind (thanks therapist), but the source of our seasonal itchy scalp and sometimes lackluster locks remains a mystery—time to get to the root of the problem.

Give yourself hair and scalp therapy at Julien Grenier. The 30-minute treatment starts with a scalp analysis using a microscope for your mane called a Capilliscope to diagnose the health of your head, then a lengthy head massage with essential oils stimulates circulation in the scalp (not to mention relaxation in the mind), and finally hair is washed and problem areas treated with specially prescribed products from French line Rene Furterer.

That’s facing an issue head on.

To celebrate a successful career as a hair technician, Julien Grenier opened a high-end salon—Julien Grenier Salon & Aesthetics—on West Broadway in Vancouver. Grenier had spent 20 years at a salon in the city’s Yaletown neighbourhood.

The 2,500 square foot salon and spa is contemporary and bright with floor-to-ceiling windows and mirrors. White marble and metallic mosaic tiles contrasts with sleek black furniture, and the salon features state-of-the-art facilities. The space was conceptualized by Box Interior Design, a team that recently won an award for their work on a high-end restaurant in Vancouver’s Shangri-La Hotel.

“After 20 lucrative years in business, it is a dream come true to be able to create a new beautiful space that inspires me every day,” says Grenier, who came to the West Coast from Quebec. “Our entire team is excited about our new location and refreshed brand and we look forward to indulging our customers.”
